How to share Facebook photos with your friends

How To Tips · InternetTags: Facebook · Photo Sharing · Social

I had been to trekking recently and it was good that many had their own cameras. But when it had come to photo sharing, people were uploading it on their Facebook account. Note that once a photo is uploaded to Facebook, the image quality goes down (as of today) and the photos that you have uploaded on Facebook may not look that good when compared to photos uploaded on Google Plus or Flicker. When you download Facebook photos, the image quality will be poor and the file size will be less – which means loss of image information which cannot be retrieved.

Also check: How to enable photo download on Google Plus

Forget about the quality for now, I have seen people sharing URL of their photo album. Note that this URL will allow only you to view the photos that you have uploaded. You can check this yourself by copy-pasting this URL in incognito window of your browser. So, when you share this URL with your friends they will not be able to see any of the photos that you wanted to share with them.

Usually most of the links once published are indexed, but there are chances that search engines like Google might also miss some of the pages of your website as it might not have been discovered by the crawl spiders. To avoid this from happening, you can help Google by having a sitemap of your website. It’s recommended to have a Sitemap link on your landing or home page of your website or WordPress website as the crawl spiders can easily identify all the pages in your site.

How to work with Underexposed Photos

How To Tips · Photography · TutorialTags: Lightroom · Photo Editing · Photography · PhotoshopI remember the first time I used manual mode in DSLR  camera, many were captured as underexposed photos (low light/ dark image) or overexposed (more light/ white image). But luckily I had captured these images in RAW (.NEF in Nikon) format and not JPEG.Note that there is difference in capturing images in RAW and JPEG formats. It worth capturing images in RAW format even though it takes more memory. The reason is images captured in RAW format can me edited (post processing) using photo editing tools like Lightroom or Photoshop, the way you want to and this is not the case with JPEG images. RAW files will contain all the information and JPEG files are compressed formats of the same image. When the image is compressed there is loss of information or data and there is no way to recover the lost data in the image by these image editors. If you have captured an image which is in RAW format and is underexposed then you can easily edit it using Photoshop and you can recover the photo by retrieving the hidden information in the photo. Follow the following steps to recover an under exposed photos:

How to Turn a Broken Ladder Into Shelves

Edited by Barara Carmical, ImTheTrueMermaid, Teresa, Gerard Plamenco and 2 othersPin ItArticle EditDiscussDon’t lose seven years to bad luck if your ladder collapses above you. Be the lucky (and thrifty) one instead and repurpose it into smart shelving for your den, family or living room. It's easy to do and it's functionally stylish. Edit Steps
Integrating The Ladder Into Your Existing Décor1Determine if the ladder itself gels with your home/room. Evaluate first whether the ladder will suit your current design style. For instance, what the ladder is made of will impact whether it suits your décor. Wooden ladders might look great in one room, while a steel one might be better in another.

Bring the ladder inside and see how the material looks inside your existing décor.2Evaluate the ladder’s condition. While you can certainly repurpose a broken ladder into shelving, you don’t want to use a ladder that is so damaged that it lacks functionality. Since the steps will be used as the shelves, there need to be at least a few of them in place or you'll need to be able to mend missing ones with ease. Do any repairs needed first.

3Identify an area to accommodate the ladder shelf. The ladder needs to fit; for example, a small nook space won't work if you're trying to create shelves from a 15 foot ladder. Keep in mind that one half of the ladder will need to lean against the wall, meaning that you need to allow adequate space for it to protrude into the room.

Take measurements of both the ladder sides and the area to ensure a comfortable fit.4Consider what you'll put on the ladder’s shelves. This will help you to decide its best placement. It might be figurines, books, a collection of some sort, quilts, whatever.

Check that the desired shelf items can fit easily and safely on each step. Test out items you aren’t completely sure about before using them. You can also make use of poster tack to hold light things in place if needed.Do you perhaps have a theme? For example, you might like to display your snow globe collection or your favorite set of leather bound books.
Preparing the Ladder1Remove the hinges that hold the ladder together. Some ladders can be unhooked without a tool, whereas others might require the use of a screwdriver (an electric one is probably easiest). For the purposes of this project, you'll only be using one side of the ladder but nothing prevents you from turning both sides into wall-leaning shelves; simply do the same things to both sides.

2Sand, clean and repair the ladder as required. If it's a wooden ladder, it needs to be sanded to remove splinters and rough patches. Wood or super glue can be used to mend minor damage or dents.

Use a mild dish detergent and water to clean ladder.3Do any needed repairs to ensure the ongoing integrity of the ladder. As noted earlier, if the rungs are damaged, you'll need to decide which need fixing and/or replacing and which can be left alone.

Making Shelf Platforms
For many ladders, it's likely that the ladder steps or rungs won't be wide enough to accommodate the items you wish to store on them. However, this won't always be the case, and if you think your ladder steps or rungs are already wide enough for the intended purpose, you can skip this section.
1Take measurements of the length of the steps of the ladder. Do both length and a desired shelf width. These measurements will be used to make a shelf platform which you will mount on the steps.

2Cut a piece of plywood to the measurements taken.

3Shape the platform from the plywood piece. Cut out any sections needed to help the shelf platform slide onto the rung with ease. As you can see here, special cuts were required at the back of the shelf platform.

4Nail each shelf platform for every step or rung of the ladder. You may wish to nail at an angle that will counteract the lean the ladder shelf will have when placed against the wall. You'll want the books, objects, etc., to stay in place and not slide off.

Displaying the Ladder Shelves1Prepare ladder shelves for display. This means staining or painting the ladder if necessary. It might also need final adjustments or a last sanding.

If you're using a wooden ladder and you're going for a natural look, consider at least adding a clear coat of gloss to protect the wood.

2Affix the ladder to the wall. There are a few ways you can approach this:

If you do not have small children or overly curious pets at home, you could simply add chair leg pads to the backs of the ladder and lean the ladder piece against the wall. However, for a more permanent solution, consider purchasing brackets and screws to secure the ladder to the wall.3Add display items to the ladder. Arrange the items so they fit easily on each step––don't forget about adding something special to the top.

4Finished.

Edit TipsIf you live in an area prone to earthquakes, it is highly recommended that this item is attached firmly to the wall. You may wish to use poster tack to keep objects firmly in place during a shake.Reconsider this project if you have small children or overly curious pets. Although the ladder should be secured to the wall, it still sits in a precarious manner, which could have disastrous results if disturbed.

How to Clean Your iPad

Edited by Ipadcleaningcloth, Peter, Monica, Teresa and 14 othersPin ItArticle EditDiscussYou put your hands and fingers all over your iPad, but that's what it's designed for, right? Removing smudges and grime is a regular part of iPad upkeep. This article will describe the proper and safe way to clean your iPad's touch screen. All you need is a high quality microfiber cleaning cloth or a lens wipe and you'll be good to go. Read on for more instructions. Edit Steps
Cleaning Your iPad1Make sure your iPad is completely unplugged and press the "Sleep" button on the top of your iPad or turn your iPad off completely. Remove any additional external cords and/or electronics that may still be connected to the iPad.

2If you have it, remove your iPad Cleaning Cloth from its case. The Cleaning Cloth is the black microfiber cloth that came with the iPad packaging. Briskly shake the cloth in the air to remove any loose particles from the microfiber.

3Check your iPad's screen for any debris or large particles. You don't want to accidentally turn the debris into an abrasive by rubbing it over the screen.

4If necessary, use compressed air to blow off any debris to avoid scratching your iPad's screen.

Note: if your compressed air produces patches of frozen air, be careful to avoid getting any moisture into one of the iPad's openings, in particular, as well as on the screen itself.5Place your iPad Cleaning Cloth on your iPad's screen. If you don't have the Cleaning Cloth that came with the iPad, you can also use:

Any microfiber clothAny lens cloth you might use on your glassesAny soft, lint-free cloth
Do not use: cloths, towels, paper towels, or any similar items on your iPad. These damage the screen of the iPad.[1]6Gently rub the iPad Cleaning Cloth in a circular motion until the screen is clean.

7Inspect for any remaining patches of oil or grime. You will see that with just a few circular strokes, your iPad will be shining like new!

8Repeat after every use or as needed. This will help to keep your iPad clean and clear of fingerprints and smudges.

9Avoid using the following items to clean an iPad. iPads have an oleophobic coating on the screen, which are sensitive and only require a fine cloth to clean. The following[2] items will damage the oleophobic coating if used to clean the iPad:

Window or household cleanersAerosol spraysSolventsAlcoholAmmoniaAbrasives
Tips for Keeping Your iPad Clean1Consider buying an effective case and cover. The market is flooded with iPad cases; they're everywhere you look, making the decision of which one to buy even harder. Here are some general tips you can use when searching for an iPad case:

Get something form-fitting that doesn't impede use of the device. You want something that will act as a kind of second skin to the iPad, but a skin that doesn't make using the iPad hard or cumbersome.Unless the products fit extremely well, stay away from leather cases. Leather cases are pretty and make the iPad something to behold, but they aren't form-fitting, letting loose dust and grit get between the case or cover and the iPad itself.2Clean your iPad regularly. You don't have to clean your iPad after each and every use, but if you use it frequently, giving it a quick minute of your undivided cleaning attention will ensure that the iPad lasts well into its glory years, smudge- and grime-free.

3Never spray any liquids directly onto the iPad. Moisture + iPad opening = disaster. As a general rule, try not to use liquids when you clean the iPad to preserve its oleophobic coating.

If you feel like you must use a liquid to clean the iPad, go for something like the iKlenz Cleaner Solution.[3] This kind of solution repels dust and kills bacteria as well. If used properly, this cleaning liquid should also give a streak-free shine.4Finished.

Edit TipsMake sure your iPad is turned off or asleep to avoid accidentally opening apps or moving things around.Be sure to wash your iPad Cleaning Cloth as needed or after heavy use.Keep an iPad Cleaning Cloth with your iPad at all times to wipe the screen after each use to avoid build-up of fingerprints and debris.Use a glasses cleaning cloth and scrub HARD antinuclear to the back also.
Edit WarningsDo NOT get your iPad wet.Do NOT use rubbing alcohol, ammonia based window cleaners or any other cleaning spray or chemicals on your iPad's screen, it will remove the special coating and reduce the responsiveness of the device.
